1/13/09 9:15 PM - Wow this one is tough. I've managed to execute this only 3 times out of more than 50 tries. There are 4 difficulties I've found with this move:

1. Timing when to initiate the back kick (Back X) after the Blade Cyclone

OK, this isn't to difficult. After Baraka does his Blade Cyclone he finishes by lowering his arms. You will notice when he is coming to a stop plants his feet and the momentum sways him a bit. His arms will rock back and forth slightly. It's at this point, right before his arms are coming to rest, that I've found initiating the Back X, Back Triangle - Back X, Square sequence is most effective.

2. The brief pause between the upper cut (Back Triangle) and the next back kick (Back X)

If you just hold back and press X, Triangle, X,... the second X (back kick) will execute too early. You will need a very, very slight pause after the Triangle and then press Back X, Square. (Very, Very Slight, almost none) If you are holding back the whole time you may take a slight step back during the slight pause. I'm not sure yet if this hurts your chances of completing the entire Kombo. I'll trying to pay a little more attention to this and report back.

3. Rembering the attack button sequence

I had a really hard time conditioning myself just to press the right attack button sequence. (Back X, Back Triangle - Back X, Square). The second part was most difficult for me to remember. The only word of advice I can give is practice this over and over until the motions feel natural.

4. Having the discipline to only press the attack buttons once during the sequence

It was so hard for me to just press the attack buttons once. When intiating the attack sequence (Back X) you will know if you tapped X twice because Baraka will perform two back kicks instead of doing the (Back Triangle) upper cut. This will happen even if you just barrelly hit X twice. The same thing goes for the back kick after he slight pause. If you accidentally hit X twice it will kick instead of punch.

5. Finishing the Kombo with a Scrape Kick

This is hard because you have to be pressing forward forward really fast after the Square punch. If you press forward to soon your square punch will turn into a knock down punch. If you start pressing forward forward to late you will not get the Scrape Kick off in time. This is really frustrating because I feel the attack sequence is hard enough with out this. I would be very interested if anyone has some tips on how to more affectively get this last move off.

Overall, you will need condition yourself by practicing this over and over.

1/21/09 9:00 PM - One of the things I naturally find myself doing at the end of this Kombo is tapping triangle several times instead of Forward Forward. Obviously you don't want to do this. I'm just pointing this out because it seemed natural to me even though it was the wrong sequence. I contiously have to remember to press the Forward Forward button fast at the end of the Horror Kombo. When I do, it works.

1/24/09 11:25 PM - Like the Shear of Doom Kombo you should focus on this Kombo as your primary Kombo to use in game play given it's difficulty to damage ratio. Enjoy!
