Baraka - 10. Stabby Stabby (48% Very Difficult)

Kombo Challege: Fists Only, Back X, Back Triangle - Back X, Back Back X, * Forward Forward Triangle - Triangle Triangle O, Forward Forward Triangle.

Start with blades retracted (Fists only)
Tarkatan Chop (Back X, Back Triangle)
Hop Roundhouse (Back X)
Chop Chop Blades (Back Back X)
Scrape Kick (Forward Forward Triangle)
Tears of Pain (Triangle Triangle O)
Scrape Kick (Forward Forward Triangle)

1/21/09 11:45 PM - This is pretty difficult to complete but can be done with some practice. I recommend breaking these Kombos into 3 practice sessions.

1. It shouldn't be that difficult to get the first two combinations in the sequence off. Witht the Tarkatan Chop it's a little bit difficult to start this off because it requires you to press back and X. If pressing back moves you away from your opponent a bit you can still execut the move since it is intiated by a Hop Roundhouse. Keep holding back when you transition to the Triange to finish the Tarkaan chop. You will then want to briefly let go of the back button so you don't move any further away and the press a back and X at the same time to execute the second Hop Roundhouse. Practice this a few times.

2. Next you will need to execute the Chop Chop Blades. This is a bit tricky because you are already holding back and X for your Hop Roundhouse. You will need to get conditioned to press Back Back X immediately after you initiate the Hop Roundhouse sequence. Once you get Baracka's Chop Chop Blades going you will need to initiate a power Scrape Kick. You should be used to these by now, from previous Kombo Challenges.

3. Finally to end the Kombo you will need to get off the Tears of Pain and Scrape Kick moves. To get the Tears of Pain move off you will need to step forward a little bit after you execute the power Scrape Kick. When your opponent is on their way down press Triangle, Triangle, O. Remember to only press the buttons once. Just like the Cut to Ribbons Kombo any extra taps will cause this Kombo not to work. You will then need to quickly press Forward Forward Triangle to execute the last Scrape Kick.

If you piece these Kombo sequences together you can get off a sick 48% damage move. This is it for Baraka's Kombos. If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to post them.

Baraka - 9. Cut to Ribbons (41% Very Difficult)

Kombo Challenge: Fists Only, Triangle, Triangle, Down Forward O - Back X, Back Triangle - Triangle, Triangle, O, Back Back X, * Forward Forward Triangle

Double Cuts (Triangle, Triangle)
Blade Cyclone (Down Forward O)
Tarkatan Chop (Back X, Back Triangle)
Tears of Pain (Triangle, Triangle, O)
Chop Chop Blades (Back Back X)
Scrape Kick (Forward Forward Triangle)

1/21/09 10:50 PM - This one was difficult for me to complete for one reason only. Transitioning from the Tears of Pain move to the Chop Chop Blades. (I'll get to this).

1. The first part of the Kombo is Double Cuts (Triangle, Triangle). Simple.

2. The second part is a transition into the Blade Cyclone (Down Forward O). If you are not careful to do the down forward directional pad in sequence you may execute a Tears of Pain move. It should only take you a few practice tries to get the Double Cuts to Blade Cyclone transition.

3. Next is the Tarkatan Chop move (Back X, Back O). This is a back kick to upper cut (sort of). Anyway, after you execute it in the Kombo it will knock your opponent way in the air.

4. Pause until your opponent is on the way down and the execute the Tears of Pain move (Triangle, Triangle, O). It is EXTREMELY important that you only tap each button once. My biggest issue was that I was tapping Triangle, Triangle O, O. I was hitting the O twice without really even noticing it. If you do what I did, you will never be able to transition into the next move...

5. Which is the Chop Chop Blades. If you only tapped Triangle Triangle O you should have no problem with executing the Chop Chop Blades (Back Back X). The main thing you need to focus on is to confidently execute the Tears of Pain move without hitting any extra buttons. You still need to quickly press Back Back X for this but it should work.

6. Finally, if you are so skilled to get the Double Cuts to Blade Cyclone to Tarkatan Chop to Tears of Pain to Chop Chop Blades off, be prepared to press forward forward Triangle at just the right time to execute the power Scrape Kick. The way I get this to work, is when Baraka starts the Chop Chop Blades, I start pressing forward repeatedly until right before he finishes cutting up his opponent and then press Triangle. Unlike the attack button sequences, I have found that with moves which require tapping the directional pad in the same direction twice, it doesn't hurt to press them repeatedly ahead of the attack button.

Frankly, I like the Love of Battle move better. It's easier to execute and you get 43% damage.

Baraka - 5. Shear of Doom (35% Moderate)

Kombo Challenge: Without Blades, Back X, O - Square, Square, Triangle, Back Back X

1/12/09 8:50 PM - Watch the #5 video on this one.
http://mkdc-pro-moves.blogspot.com/2009/01/baraka-all-kombo-challanges.html
Baraka will start off with a back kick and will unleash his blades driving them upward into his opponent. He will then perform 2 horizontal swipes and one vertical swipe finishing with a Chop Chop special move. So let's dissect this this. Start off with your blades retracted. Get close to your opponent and press Back X, O. The Back X will deliver the back kick and the circle will unleash his blades and drive your opponent upward. BTW, that's pretty cool that you get all that from just pressing O. Pause for a split second and initiate the square, Square, Triangle sequence when your opponent begins his decent. If you are successful you'll get 3 swipes off. Note: If you press Triangle more than once you will not get the Kombo Challenge off, but rather finish with a big upward blade swipe, finishing you with a 27% Kombo. Not bad, and not that difficult to get off. Now, I was able to get the Chop Chop off after this extra Triangle swipe giving me a 37% Kombo, but it did not give me credit for the completing the Kombo Challenge since I had one too many Triangle swipes. This was definitely harder to get off. The best thing you can do is practice the Square, Square, Triangle sequence enough to where you're comfortable doing that every time. To get the Chop Chop off I think you need to be pressing Back, Back will you are finishing your Square, Square, Triangle sequence, I think. I'm far from perfecting this, but I can complete this Kombo about 25% of the time now. This Kombo will apply 35% damage to your opponent.

1/24/09 11:20 PM - After doing all the Kombo Challenges this one turns out to me a moderaly difficult move. This is worth focusing on as your primary Kombo given the damage to difficulty ration. Enjoy!!

Baraka - 2. Baraka Beatdown (25% Moderate)

Kombo Challenge: Back Back X, * Forward Forward Triangle - Down Back Square

Chop Chop Blades (Back Back X)
Scrape Kick (Forward Forward Triangle)
Sharp Spark (Down Back Square)

1/11/09 10:10 PM - After trying this move over and over again, I found myself getting lightning quick with the Back Back X (Chop Chop Blades). This is a good thing because it means I don't need to keep jumping back and forth to get the Back Back X off in the right position. If you are not fast enough yet, I recommend starting this move off from a jump length away. While you are jumping towards your opponent, be pressing Back, Back, repeatedly until you land, then press X to begin the Chop Chop Blades move. The Kombo Challenge has a * indicating that you need to initiate the next sequence with special timing. I have found that immediately after I begin the Chop Chop Blades move, if I start pressing Forward, Forward, repeatedly, I can get the Scrape Kick move by pressing Triangle just as Baraka is finishing his Chop Chop move. You'll know if you got this off because your opponent will go flying way in the air. The next part is the hardest in my opinion. You need to get of a Sharp Spark by pressing Down Back Square. So far the best luck I've had is if I execute this while Baraka is kicking the opponent up and I roll the directional pad Down Forward, rather than pressing the directional pad in the down forward angle. You need to get the "Sharp Spark" off fast. Try executing it almost before Baraka has finished with his big kick up. This move is a bit harder because it involves different directions and different attack buttons. Please let me know if you find any useful techniques for this or have any helpful suggestions.

1/11/09 10:35 PM - OK, using the techniques I described above, I've pretty much can get this off about 50% of the time now.

1/12/09 7:15 PM - The Sharp Spark needs to be executed a just the right time. I'm getting better at it. I'll try to post a technique for get off the Sharp Spark on time. You will have a little more time to get it off if your opponent is backed against a wall.

1/14/09 9:40 PM - This one gets easier after you've completed some of the harder Kombos. It just takes conditioning. This is not a bad Kombo to master for 25% damage.
